About Us

HISTORY OF ST SIMEON HEALTHCARE

By the efforts and support of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Diocese of Australia and New Zealand and the Parish and Community of St Archdeacon Stefan Rooty Hill, St Simeon Village was consecrated by Bishop Longin and opened by Lionel Bowen, Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, on 6 August 1989.

St Simeon Village works to this very day under the ownership of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Australia and New Zealand. It is comprised of 51 residential units, common areas, a dining room, Kitchen, offices and utility rooms.

Over the years we have been privileged to have provided a home for residents of many nationalities and faiths, with members of the Serbian orthodox community being an important component of those that call our Village their home.

At the recommendation of the Board of Directors and the support of the Serbian Orthodox Church we extended our services to Home Care in 2008 to support our clients in their wish to remain independent in their own homes.
